Position Summary: The functions of this position include, but are not limited to, administration of curricular related initiatives and assessment of student learning activities including academic program approval and review, articulation agreements, UW System reports, assessment of general education and majors and general education initiatives. In addition, this position provides direct supervision to the UW Oshkosh Office of Institutional Research, Registrar, Advising, and the Center for Academic Resources and national higher education projects and initiatives. (e.g., the American Democracy Project and the WI Campus Compact). This position is also responsible (liaison) for handling communication between institution programs and UW System Administration regarding implementation of policies related to program planning, approval, and review and participation as administrative liaison to the UW Oshkosh Academic Policies Committee, Faculty Senate Committee for the Assessment of Student Learning, University Studies Committee and matters concerning UW Oshkosh’s accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission. The position includes serving to the HLC System Liaison Group.

30% Administration of Curricular Affairs

a. Management of academic program approval processes

b. Oversight of academic program review

c. Review and approval of articulation agreements

d. Writing of reports for UW System regarding curricular inventory/activities

e. Oversight of the University Studies Program (USP) curriculum

f. Signature authority on curriculum documents

g. HLC institutional liaison

h. Oversight of HLC accreditation review processes and coordination of site visits

25% Administration of Assessment of Student Learning

a. Implementation of assessment plan and review processes

b. Coordination of USP assessment in cooperation with UW Oshkosh Office of Institutional Research

c. Data collection related to academic support services

d. Coordination of national assessment

e. Publication of Oshkosh Student Achievement Report

f. Completion of UW System assessment reports


25% Supervision and General Administrative Duties

a. Supervision and administrative oversight of the Office of Institutional Research, Registrar, Advising and the Center for Academic Resources (CAR)

b. Coordination of the UW Oshkosh Academic Program Plan

c. Creation of Institutional Accountability Report and UW System Reports


20% Committee Leadership and Involvement

a. Participation in processes related to curriculum grants when appropriate

b. Administrative Representative to USP, APC, FSCASL, and other governance committees, working groups, and task forces

c. Member of the Provost's Administrative Staff and Chancellor's Leadership Council

d. Service on various ad hoc committees as appropriate

e. Provost representative for the American Democracy Project Group


1. Doctorate or appropriate terminal degree
2. Outstanding record in, and commitment to, teaching, scholarly activity, and service
3. Knowledge of data collection methodologies
4. Knowledge of assessment practices in higher education
5. Ability to evaluate curriculum based on UW System standards
6. Knowledge of accreditation practices, standards and processes
7. Administrative experience in higher education
8. Must be eligible for tenure and rank of associate professor
