Position Summary: This is a tenured or tenure-track position in the College of Nursing (CON). Responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, and service in the Nurse Anesthesia Emphasis in the Graduate Program. Rank will be determined upon review of qualifications.
Responsibilities

A. TEACHING

Work collaboratively with the Nurse Anesthesia Emphasis Director and other Graduate Faculty to teach, develop, implement, refine, revise, and/or evaluate nurse anesthesia curriculum and policies.

i. Adhere to agency and university policies in clinical and didactic courses
ii. Assist in appraisal/acquisition of potential clinical facilities appropriate for nurse anesthesia emphasis students specific learning experiences
iii. Participate in processes related to recruitment, selection, admission, advising, and progression of Graduate Students consistent with College of Nursing and University admission policies option assessment, accreditation processes, overall program review and evaluation of Graduate programs
iv. Promote mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of the University and the College of Nursing
v. Liaison to leaders in clinical agencies, preceptors, contacts in professional organizations and statutory bodies
vi. Participate in program resource development, including simulation and obtaining intramural and extramural program support
vii. Other duties as assigned by the Post-Licensure Program Director or Dean

 

B. SCHOLARSHIP AND SERVICE

Maintain scholarship and service activities appropriate for rank.


i. Serve on University and College committees as needed and as indicated in CON bylaws
ii. Represent the University and the College of Nursing at professional activities at local, state, national, and international levels
iii. Liaison to leaders in clinical agencies, preceptors, contacts in professional organizations and statutory bodies
iv. Participate in program resource development, including simulation and obtaining intramural and extramural program support
v. Other duties as assigned by the Post-Licensure Program Director or Dean

Qualifications  
Required: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program associated with a regionally-accredited institution of higher education
Doctoral degree or near degree completion (final semester)
Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
Unencumbered license as a registered nurse and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and eligible for licensure in the state of Wisconsin
Preferred: Doctoral degree appropriate to content area
At least three (3) years of clinical experience as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
Experience in nurse anesthesia curriculum development, evaluation, and instruction
Experience with accreditation requirements for nurse anesthesia programming
Graduate level teaching experience
Distance/online teaching experience
Evidence of scholarship and service
